Ingredients:
- Split bengal gram 2 cup
- Onion 1 (chopped)
- Green chili 2 (chopped)
- Green coriander 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Lemon juice 2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Spice powder 1 tsp
- Oil 1/2 cup
Procedure:
Wash and soak the lentil for 2-3 hours in plenty of water.
In a sauce pan heat the oil and fry onion till pink.
Add spice, red chili powder, salt, turmeric and fry for 1-2 minute.
Then add chana dal and mix well.
Pour enough water just to cover the lentil.
Cover the lid and cook on medium fire for 30 minutes.
When lentil tenderized add lemon juice and stir well.
Transfer in a bowl and garnish with green coriander and green chilies.
Serve with rice.

Cooking time: 40 minutes
