Ingredients:
- Wheat floor 1 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 1/4 tsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Jaggery 1 cup
- Water 1 cup
- Fennel seed 1 tsp
- Oil (for deep fry)
Procedure:
Sift the flour and add baking powder and butter.
Cook jaggery in 1 cup water until it dissolve and became in form of thick syrup, stir it continuously during cooking.
Pour this jaggery syrup in flour and knead well.
At the end add fennel seeds and knead once.
Cover this dough and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.
Dust the slab with flour and make small balls from dough.
Heat the oil in a wok.
Roll the balls over slab in circle of 4 inches and fry them one by one in hot oil for 3-4 minutes, change their side during fry.
Serve as snacks with tea.
Note: When these pooris get completely cool, you can preserve in an air tight jar for 3-4 days.
