Ingredients:

  1. Tamarind (lobia) 1 cup (boiled)
  2. White chick peas 3 cup (boiled)
  3. Gravy of chick peas 1 1/2 cup
  4. Onion 1 (chopped)
  5. Garlic paste 1tsp
  6. Ginger paste 1 tsp
  7. Tomato 1 (chopped)
  8. Salt 1 tsp
  9. Red chili powder 1tsp
  10. Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  11. Spice powder 1 tsp
  12. Chaat masala 1 tsp
  13. Oil 1/4 cup
For Garnish:
  1. Onion 1 (thinly sliced)
  2. Green chili 4 (chopped)

Procedure:

Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium flame and fry onion for 6-8 minutes until transparent.
Add garlic and cook about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add red chili powder, turmeric, salt and 1/4 cup water to prevent from burning.
Cook for 1-2 minute.
Add ginger and tomatoes and fry until the water of tomatoes evaporated and oil starts to separate.
Add boiled tamarind and gravy of chickpeas.
Cover and boil for 5-8 minutes over low flame.
Add chick peas, spice powder and chaat masala, mix well.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes more.
Transfer in a serving bowl.
Garnished with sliced onion and chopped green chilies.
It can be served hot or cold.

Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
