Ingredients:
- Rice 2 cup
- Sugar 2 cup
- Dried coconut 1/4 cup (thinly sliced)
- Yellow food color 1/4 tsp
- Cinnamon sticks 1
- Green cardamom 8
- Water 1/2 cup
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Almond 1/4 cup (cut into sliver)
- Pistachio 1/4 cup (cut into sliver)
- Milk 2 tbsp
- Raisins 1/4 cup
- Cloves 4
- Ghee 1 cup
Procedure:
Soak coconut and raisins into water for 1 hour.
Wash the rice well and soak in plenty of water for 1 hour.
In a heavy base pan, boil 6 cup water.
Add drained, washed rice, green cardamom seeds and yellow color in boiled water.
Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, until the rice are almost cooked.
Drain the boiled rice and keep aside.
Take a heavy based pan, add ghee, green cardamom and cloves, stir continue, for 3 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup water and sugar, cook until sugar dissolves.
Then add drained rice, lemon juice, stir gently.
Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Add almond, coconut, pistachio, raisins and mix well.
Cover with tight lid, cook over low flame for 15 minutes.
Until all the moisture has evaporated.
Serve warm.
