Ingredients:
- Potatoes 1/2 kg (cut in small cubes)
- Green chili 3 (minced)
- Ginger 1 tsp (cut length wise)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red Chili powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Nigella (kalonji) 1/4 tsp
- Fenugreek (methi dana) 1/2 tsp
- Spice 1/2 tsp (ground)
- Cumin seed 1/2 tsp (roasted, ground)
- Lemon juice 1 tsp
- Tamarind 1 tsp
- Water 1 1/2 cup
- Oil 1/2 cup
Procedure:
Put oil in a deep frying pan, when it heat up add kalonji, cumin seed, methi dana and fry for 2 minutes.
Then add other dry ingredients and cook for 2 minutes.
Add potatoes and water, stir once.
Cover the lid and cook until potatoes tenderized and water evaporated.
Add lemon juice and tamarind.
Cook for 2 minutes more.
Garnish with green chili and ginger and transfer in a serving bowl.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
