Ingredients:

  1. Potatoes 1/2 kg (cut in small cubes)
  2. Green chili 3 (minced)
  3. Ginger 1 tsp (cut length wise)
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Red Chili powder 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  7. Nigella (kalonji) 1/4 tsp
  8. Fenugreek (methi dana) 1/2 tsp
  9. Spice 1/2 tsp (ground)
  10. Cumin seed 1/2 tsp (roasted, ground)
  11. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  12. Tamarind 1 tsp
  13. Water 1 1/2 cup
  14. Oil 1/2 cup

Procedure:

Put oil in a deep frying pan, when it heat up add kalonji, cumin seed, methi dana and fry for 2 minutes.
Then add other dry ingredients and cook for 2 minutes.
Add potatoes and water, stir once.
Cover the lid and cook until potatoes tenderized and water evaporated.
Add lemon juice and tamarind.
Cook for 2 minutes more.
Garnish with green chili and ginger and transfer in a serving bowl.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
