Ingredients:

  1. Chicken 1 kg (8 pieces)
  2. Rice 1 kg
  3. Onion 1/2 cup (chopped)
  4. Green Chile 6 (cut small)
  5. Tomatoes 3 (roughly chopped)
  6. Ginger 1 tbsp (ground)
  7. Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  8. Salt 4 tbsp (according to taste)
  9. Red pepper powder 1 tsp
  10. Spice powder 2 tbsp
  11. Water 8 cup
  12. Ghee 1 cup

Procedure:

Wash the rice and soak in plenty of water for 1 hour.
Heat the ghee in the heavy base pan.
Add the onion, stir frequently, until it looks golden brown.
Add the washed and drained meat, fry it for 8 minutes then put ginger, garlic, tomatoes, green chili, red pepper, spice, salt and stir frequently.
Fry this over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes until the meat turns to golden color.
Then add 4 cups water and cook over high flame.
When water became rolling boil, cover the lid and cook over medium flame until chicken tenderized, it may takes 15 minutes.
When chicken tenderized, add the drain rice in it.
Cook over high flame until water evaporated, stir these occasionally.
Cover the lid, reduce the heat to low and cook for 8-10 minutes.
Serve hot with Raita.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 50 minutes
